Need Help Paying Your Water Bill?

Apply for the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program!

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program is a federally funded program that helps income-qualified families with water and wastewater costs.

You may be eligible if you meet the following requirements:

Have a total income no more than 60 percent of the Florida State Median Income (SMI);
Are responsible for paying your home water or wastewater bills;
Are a resident of Florida; and
Are a U.S. citizen, qualified alien, or permanent resident of the U.S.

How Do I Apply?

You may contact your local Community Action Agency by visiting our Community Action Agency List and calling the LIHWAP provider listed for your Florida county.
You may also request an application be mailed to you by emailing LIHWAP@DEO.MyFlorida.com.

Documents Needed for Application:

A readable copy of the applicants’ current state issued photo identification (*driver’s license).
Scanned copies of the Social Security cards for all members of your household.
Documentation of all monthly household income (pay stubs, award letters, etc.).
Full and complete signed LIHWAP application.
A copy of your most recent water utility bill.
Copy of the applicants’ lease agreement if your water utility is paid to Property Management/Landlord as part of your monthly lease or rent.
