Pregnancy Health Education Program

The Mahogany Project is a health education program designed to help pregnant women in specific Broward County areas.

It teaches mothers how to monitor and improve their health, especially during pregnancy.

The program also provides valuable parenting education, helping moms learn how to care for their newborns.

Alongside health education, mothers gain access to resources and support in their community.

Who Can Join?

To join the Mahogany Project, you need to:

• Live in one of these zip codes: 33311, 33313, 33319, 33023, 33060, or 33068.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be within 20 weeks of pregnancy.

What Services Are Offered?

Pregnant women in the program can get:

• Prenatal Support
  • Help with staying healthy during pregnancy.
• Childbirth Education
  • Learn about what to expect during birth.
• Breastfeeding Education
  • Tips and support for breastfeeding.
• Nutrition Education
  • Learn what foods keep you and your baby healthy.
• Health Education Groups
  • Meet with others to talk about health topics.
• Health Education Counseling
  • Get advice and tips for staying healthy.
• Referrals for Other Services
  • Help finding other services and resources you may need.
• Medical Provider Assistance
  • Help finding a doctor or clinic.
• Help with Benefits
  • Assistance signing up for Medicaid, TANF, Food Stamps, WIC, and childcare.
