Income taxes need to be filed by April 15th. Get free tax help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
VITA offers free tax help to those who make $60,000 or less and need assistance in preparing their tax returns.
They provide IRS-certified volunteers that can offer free tax preparation services with electronic filing. Volunteers at all of the sites have been trained by the Internal Revenue Service.
Their volunteers can also provide other essential information, like special tax credits you may qualify for to maximize your tax refund.
Things you might need when filing your taxes*:
- Social Security cards or ITIN# for YOU, your SPOUSE, and ALL DEPENDENTS
- VALID picture IDs • MUST PROVIDE Identity Theft Pin #, if applicable
- W-2 Forms and/or 1099s from all jobs worked in 2022
- Copy of your 2021 tax return (if you filed one)
- Stimulus or Economic Impact Payment (EIP) information
- IRS Letter #6419 (for those who received the Advanced Child Tax Credit Payments in 2022)
- Property tax bill
- Healthcare expenses
- Donation receipts
